Jim Durrant
Jim joined The Mathers Foundation in 2019 having started out working for McBean’s Orchids in 1971, he further became nursery manager in 1974. Jim has overseen exhibits in Switzerland, France, China, and Singapore (where he won best Alexandrae ‘Barcombe’).
His work has been highly decorated during his esteemed career with 45 appearances at the Chelsea Flower Show (38 Golds), 40 appearances at the London Orchid Show (40 Golds) and 7 Golds from other RHS shows around the country.
Over his career Jim has bred hundreds of Oncidium and Cymbidium crosses and made 51 television appearances from news items, to presentations, finally to documentaries.
